FAQ

How are the funds being used?

One of the main benefits to supporting our cause as opposed to other charities and non-profit organizations is that our project is small and personally motivated.   For us, this is a labor of love.  Keeping our operation small and personal means that we will have virtually no overhead.  We take no salary and maintain no office space, allowing the vast majority of your donations to reach our beneficiaries directly.

What does this mean for you? In 2013, $0.92 of every dollar we spent went directly towards our beneficiaries’ school fees, after-school tutoring, uniforms, and school supply expenses.

Are my contributions tax-deductible?

Yes. The Chennai Children Foundation, Inc. is able to receive tax-deductible contributions under 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code.

Can I get personally involved with a child?

We encourage donors to build personal relationships with the children they support.  If you decide to sponsor or co-sponsor an individual child, we will facilitate you being able to communicate with your child through letters, e-mails, and Skype.  Our beneficiaries have expressed great interest at getting to know their sponsors and are excited to keep you updated about their progress in school.
